We went here to celebrate my daughters birthday she and the other kids really enjoy their self I love the penguin part for the little ones and love that they have a gate but I think they need someone there monitoring the gate the staff was really nice the food is pricey but they let you bring coolers inside which is a plus definitely going back

My goodness is the staff a bit whistle happy. I don't think you can sneeze without someone blowing their whistle at you. Yes, I understand that there are specific safety standards your lifeguards need to follow. I was standing in three feet of water playing with my son. He jumped up and touched my shoulder. They blew the whistle at us and told us to stop horse playing. I was carrying him in the water, and they blew the whistle at me. My daughter who was waiting to go off the diving board, a lifeguard blew their whistle and annoyingly told my daughter to go. Even though she was waiting for the person to get out of the way. A group of kids were barely splashing each other and the staff continued to harass them to the point I over heard a life guard anxiously muttering to herself how "they just need to go". Then some manager stormed over there, and told them to get out. Seriously. It's a pool. Splashing is going to happen. My kids are 6 and 11. They don't get upset about much, but even on the car ride home, they expressed how overboard they were being. They don't let you bring anything fun into the pool, the staff constantly complain about the smallest things, a couple who were clearly adults kissed in the pool and they were complaining about that! The pool itself is great. The slides and the play area are wonderful. And that's about it. If you like standing in waist deep water and slowly moving about, then this is the place for you. But heaven forbid... don't plan on having any fun because they'll blow their whistle and tell you to stop.

Great for all ages! Handicapped parking, and pool chair to let you down into the water! Friendly, attentive staff and plenty of lifeguards at all times! The only thing I DON'T LIKE IS THEY ALLOW UP TO 850 PEOPLE, AND I FEEL THAT'S JUST TOO MANY ALL AT ONCE!!!

I love this place the staff is very nice and friendly the atmosphere is full of friendly people with all the lifeguards that they have on staff I feel very safe in the water I've witnessed to real rescues although they do so many drills that at first I thought it was another drill but no it was a preteen down in the four and a half foot in of the pool who apparently couldn't swim he was about 10 or 11 anyways they have an area where you can eat and purchase food I love that it's gated so you have to be checked in and they have lots of parking including handicap I will be back next year this year I missed the second half of the pool I think they close a little too early but other than closing early in the year and only open from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. makes it hard to be there as much as I'd like to but I was there a lot at least once or twice a week but get the membership if you're going to be there that much because it's a lot cheaper

Staff is incredibly unprofessional. Staff at the door need more training on how to talk to people. As much as people are paying to be here the staff could do a better job. Watched a little girl go down the slide in the Penguin Pond and I and the parent yelled at the life guard who was oblivious that the child was face down. Couldn’t be my grands!!!

Nice pool. First time visitor. Yes there are crowds but lots of seating so you can find your own space. Staff is nice and guards alwsys on alert. Staff stays lockers are old and not used because they break often or people break into them. Perhaps new lockers with pay system in main pool area in plain view would cut down on theft? Maybe same kind they have at Noah's Arc in the Dells? Overall had a nice time!

This is your quintessential public pool, the one you went to as a kid or pre-teen to hang on the weekend, in the late 90s. Current chart toppers blasting over the speakers, push pops and pizza in concessions, chlorine in the air, this pool is pure nostalgia. Great for kids of all ages, kiddie pool, kids zone with slides, adequately sized 3-4' deep lap pool (public swim without lanes), 12' deep end, diving board, and 2 covered slides, and life jackets included. The gendered (not sure on inclusivity policies, please call ahead or check other reviewers) locker rooms includes dry changing rooms, showers (both public and stalled), bathrooms, sinks all of which appeared accessible at a glance. The facilities also had lockers. I'm unsure if locks are provided. Entrance includes a bag check area. I do not recall what they were checking for, to be honest, but it's required for entry for all bags and "rolled" towels. In summer 2022, entrance was about $9 for adults and people over a certain age. They also accept Y memberships for free entrance. All things considered, I feel that this price is an exceptional value. This price includes access to facilities, staff, concessions, pool, kid zone, kiddie pool, several slides, seating, and life jackets. If I recall correctly, they are open until 6. This makes it a post-work, kid-friendly, swimming option for locals. There's are fast food options in the area, even better completely reasonable concessions at the pool, or BYOF in a cooler (I think but, definitely bring your own sealed water in a non-glass container.). I'm not sure if reentry is permitted, so it's best to call ahead to verify. I also know this pool offers swim lessons for all ages at an good value. I believe the lessons are through the Rockford Park District or maybe through the YMCA. I did see a seated-lift, I believe for accessible entry near the 3'4-6" depth of the pool. The kid zone includes 0-depth entry as well. Again, great value, nostalgic public pool that's good for locals (15-20 min drive max), and good for all ages.
